Nowadays children are explicitly exposed to all sorts of advertisements. There are ads from posters, promotional products (Feuerzeuge) clothes sporting characters, billboards, brand-name labels, TV commercials, websites and others. At times certain ads are exclusively meant for children. Today’s kids are quite ‘ad-conscious’ so to speak. They can recognize as well as distinguish between several brands and are quite savvy about all the advertisements that they are exposed to. 
Statistics have shown that kids provide a better and a richer market for a product. Several ad-makers thus directly aim to a kid’s psyche and sort of make them interested in that certain product. Some of the points to teach the kids about ads and promos are as follows:-

If a product’s advertisement includes an animated character that kids like, a child watching that commercial would immediately be attracted to that certain ad. •    Kids usually like collecting stuff and some companies make a variety of toys and sort of persuade the kids to collect them all. Now a kid would learn better about an advertisement and promo if that certain ad provides information about fun things that the child would like to collect and gradually built up a collection.

•    There are many clubs for the kids that are great ways of gaining brand loyalties as kids love the idea of belonging to the group they like. Learning about ads through kiddy clubs is considered to be great as a child would learn and be knowledgeable about a product if he/she is amidst a group of likeminded children all sharing a common interest.

•    Schools are considered to be perfect learning institutions that apart from imparting knowledge to kids, also act as proper places to learn about ads and promos. The children are directly exposed to advertisements here.

•    In order to teach your kids about advertisements and promos, you need to know how he or she thinks. A kid wouldn’t understand a thing about credit cards, wallet or e-money. He or she likes to reside in a fantastical world and thus at times to teach kids about ads you have to become a child so as to fully understand the psychological patterns of a child.

•    At times, or rather many times your kid would be persuaded by many corporations to purchase something that is quite worthless and you can help your kid by imparting proper knowledge about ads to your kids. At times, a trip to a factory where the ‘desired’ product is being manufactured also helps.

•    Sometimes, personification of a product might make the kid learn something about the advertisement. If a stuffed animal has a certain name then automatically a child desiring that product would become eager to learn about the advertisement of that product.
 
Thus we see that several methods are employed to make the kids understand and learn advertisements and promotions.
